Eid 2018 Dinner Party

Ramadan is the Islamic holy month, which means 30 days of fasting and prayer, and this year starts May 15 and ends June 14. In the evenings the fast is broken with a dinner called an iftar. The end of the month is celebrated with a festival called Eid al-Fitr which includes a big feast and the exchanging of gifts. It is common for people to dress in their finest and get together with loved ones over meals fit for a king.

We have a luxe assortment of home decor and tableware to make your Eid 2018 nights shine. Dress it up or down depending on the setting and all our picks fit a boho-chic setting (like the picture above from Spell Designs) or a glamorous room made of marble and gilt. From plate chargers to candle holders, our dinner party decor will help make your iftar unforgettable.

THE KILIM RUG

kilim rugs for your dining room

Perfect for indoor or out, the sturdy Kilim rugs make the base for your dinner table. Layer them, add cushions, poufs, or chairs, and then set your table on top. We love to mix patterns and colors for a tribal vibe! Kilim Rugs, $200-$300

CUSHIONS & POUFS

mandala floor pouf

Again, we like to add color so these floor poufs add a fun Moroccan or Hindu touch to the decor. The pom poms are an added bonus and keep the room from getting too stuffy. Even if you use a traditional dinner table you can stack a few of these nearby to add vibrancy. These come as just the cover and the insert is sold separately. Mandala Floor Poufs, $15

CONCRETE HAMSA HAND DECOR

The hamsa, or hand of God, is thought to be protective and bring good luck. Hang these on a wall or a tree so your night is filled with good vibes. Makes a great Eid gift as well. This beautiful version is handmade of concrete and covered in gold leaf. Gold Hamsa Decor, $100

PLACEMAT OR CHARGER PLATE

starburst metal gold placemat or charger plate

The twinkling stars in this gold placemat/charger plate take your table next level. Use your finest gold-rimmed china for a luxe look or mismatched white dishes for boho-chic. Custom made from brass that is then coated with a shimmery gold. These charger plates are to be passed down for generations. Celestial Gold Placemat Charger, $150

PEACOCK FEATHER DISHES

gold peacock feather dishes

Often a sign of royalty, the peacock feather is a beautiful motif that is used in these precious gold and white dishes. Perfect for serving your dessert, or set a few throughout the table and fill them with your za'atar or other spice. Add a mini gold spoon for serving. Gold Peacock Feather Dish, $18

 MOROCCAN BLUE GLASSES

recycled Moroccan blue glasses

Beautiful blue glasses that remind one of the ocean. Made in Morocco from recycled glass for an eco-friendly touch to your table. Looks just right with the gold touches and can be used for water or wine (for your guests that drink). Moroccan Recycled Blue Glass Tumblers, $8

GOLD NAPKIN RINGS

Like a precious eyelet trim, these metal napkin rings come in gold, rose gold or silver. The little cutouts let the light shine through and add to the sparkle of the night. We love white napkins with this setting although a natural and undyed cotton would be a great contrast to this delicate texture. Gold Eyelet Napkin Ring, $20

 NORTH STAR WALL DECOR

While these are beautiful on a wall, for the dinner party we like them hanging over the dinner table if possible, or in trees would be great too. Hang them in between the lights or lanterns so the stars glimmer over your table. Laser cut from brass and coated in gold, rose gold or silver. North Star Wall Decor, $60

MOROCCAN LANTERNS

HOSTESS GIFT

mecca soy candle with essential oils

Gifts are given at Eid and no one wants to show up empty-handed. Mecca is the birthplace of Muhammad so we love the Mecca Candle which is a blend of essential oils meant to bring prosperity and love- patchouli, coconut, and vanilla. Made from pure soy, cotton wicks, and recycled glass so it's eco-friendly too.  The Mecca Soy Candle, $20

Ramadan Mubarak to all the Muslims around the world! May your holy month be blessed and the future be full of prosperity. Love and Light!
