Matsu is ideal for both 'koicha' and 'usucha' preparation (20-.8 oz servings)
Usucha (thin version): place 1 scoop of matcha into bowl, wet with a little water and mix with Chasen whisk until a smooth paste forms (make sure to break up lumps). Add 2-3.5 oz of hot (not boiling) water and mix until desired consistency. Whisk to create a foamy texture if desired.
Koicha (thick version): double the amount of matcha used in usucha version above and use approximately half the amount of water.
Store in a cool and dry place away from moisture, sunlight and odor. Refrigerate after opening for maximum potential.
